Potassium 99 mg, dietary supplement, Amino Acid Complex. Ideal for food-sensitive individuals. The potassium in this product is reacted with whole rice concentrate rather than ordinary soy, yeast, or milk proteins which are commonly used to chelate minerals. The special rice used by Solaray® is approximately seven times higher in amino acid content than ordinary rice and has a better essential amino acid profile than soy.

Potassium is needed to regulate water balance, levels of acidity, blood pressure, and neuromuscular function. This mineral also plays a critical role in the transmission of electrical impulses in the heart. People with low blood levels of potassium who are undergoing heart surgery are at an increased risk of developing heart arrhythmias and an increased need for cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Potassium is also required for carbohydrate and protein metabolism.
